Golden Eagles - Remote Learning and Home Support

Home Support during COVID-19

To help support your time at home we have created a variety of resources and links specific to the each class.  We have tried to ensure these will support their ongoing education, but also appreciate that home schooling differs from the school environment.

We would advise providing a structure to the day, as we do at school, as most children benefit from a structured approach.
An hour per activity is ample! If your child becomes distracted or disengaged, then please move on to a different activity.

Please remember to log in to our remote sesions at 9:30am Monday to Friday.

This is a new experience for us all and a steep learning curve.  Please only do what you can, there is no pressure to complete all of the learning ideas.  Please add your own activities as you see fit, should you require any specific advice or guidance please do not hesitate to contact us on boddingtonadmin@cb-cepa.org

Golden Eagles specific learning:

English

To support our English learning, children will continue to have access to:

Readtheory.com  - which provides accurately levelled texts for the children to continue to practice their comprehension skills.

All children can have access to dyslexiagold.co.uk to consolidate reading and spellings -  please request a login if needed.

Bespoke English learning will be shared when relevant.  However, if you are looking for writing opportunities,  there are daily writing tasks on Www.pobble365.com, linked to a different stimulus image each day.

Maths

For maths, we will be accessing a range of different sites, relevant for our learning.

These will include:

https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/ . You will remember these from earlier in the year.

I suggest regular use of this site to practice key number facts https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button

Daily 10 is a primary maths resource for primary teachers which covers addition, subtraction, ordering, partitioning, digit values (place value), rounding, multiplication, division, doubles, halves and fractions.  https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/daily10

TT Rockstars maths

There are a variety of ways to practise times tables at home - TT rockstars, writing out times tables using different colours, completing questions against another family member.
https://ttrockstars.com/home

It could be as little as asking 5 questions on the way to school - doing something consistently is a good way to get into a routine and remember  - every little helps!

We subscribe to a website called TT Rockstars.  We would encourage, when your child is allowed on the internet, that they use the website.  It is an excellent away to improve times tables skills, which underpin so much of the mathematics curriculum.  All the teachers review the results.  If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher, who has access to their login details.  We understand you can download their app to your devices too.
